SPIDARLINGS ** U.K. 2016 Dir: Salem Kapsaski 126 mins

Described as a horror comedy musical, the emphasis is definitely on the musical aspect and less on the horror. The film follows low income lovers Eden and Matilda as they try to live day by day on what little money they have. Their other problem is their landlord who keeps pestering them for rent which they haven't paid for 2 years! Matilda works in a club called Juicy Girls which is far from glamorous. When Matilda comes into money from a less then reasonable way she allows Eden to buy a pet spider called Rainer. Rainer though is no ordinary pet spider.
Full of punk songs and references to politics, consumerism and everything that could be spoken about in a comedy way is covered in this 2 hour film of bizarreness. The film could do with some serious editing down as its length is far too long and it wears thin fairly quick. Sound issues when dialogue is spoken is another bug bare but most will find this easy to get over. Fans of some of the oddest underground movies or even the worst Troma films will find plenty to enjoy here.
